   • Microminiature (Micro-D) High density microminiature connectors with twist pin 3 amp contacts on .050"(1.27 mm) centers.
   • CAUTION (wire color): When specifing a connector with pigtails or flying leads, the only portion of  MIL-STD-681 System 1 (color code) that applies is the first 10 colors (standard industry color code) 10 color repeating. This is stated in the individual slash sheets of 83513 but is a little unclear (Prior to around 1982 the color coding was per MIL_STD_681 System 1, in it's entirety).
     
   • CAUTION (encapsulating): If these wires are to be encapsulated or potted do not use teflon (TFE) wire (M22759/11), use tefzel (ETFE) wire (M22759/33). Nothing sticks to teflon.

   • Strip. Strip connectors come in shell sizes ranging from 1 to 120 positions on .050 or .100 spacing. The twist pin contacts are rated at 3 amps. data sheet (pdf)
     
     
   • Subminiature D (Sub-D). Rule of thumb: Dash numbers 1 through 6 are the same as the shell size number, for example; M24308/1-1, is a shell size 1 connector. This may be helpful for selecting parts from your companies Cad Library, when you are only concerned with pin count versus relative shell size. Note that the pin count for any given shell size is different for the standard and high density configurations. See ITT Cannon.
